Nick
Arciniaga local Flagstaff runner was interviewed by NAZ Today for his reasons
for marathon running.
Professional
marathon runner and Under Armor sponsor, Nick Arciniaga started running
marathons after the Boston Marathon bombing to show support for Boston’s
community. Since the April 2013 tragedy in Boston, this Flagstaff runner and
native has participated in the annual Boston marathon every time. Feeling that
marathon running is his niche in athletic performance, Nick Arciniaga has run seventeen
marathons—often competing within the United States but completing several of
the twenty-six mile competitions internationally.
Preparation
and confidence are the keys to completing marathons, Arciniaga says, mindset is
made by the daily training. This Flagstaff runner can be spotted every day at
least once, especially in the three months preceding his marathons, when he
runs up to twenty-six miles to prepare for the distance. The last few days
before the marathon are the most stressful for Nick Arciniaga, however his
fears go away when he begins the race. You certainly could say that this
Flagstaff runner doesn’t run away from his problems.
